Gundog Club Groups
Once you have completed the ‘Novice’ Courses, you may be invited into one of the Gundog club Groups (depending on availability).
Dogs are grouped based on ability, previous experience, and eventual aims.
There are multiple sessions throughout the week. These last for an hour and take place at my training ground in Ousden.
A block of six sessions costs £100 however, unlike courses, if you are unable to make a session, you will not forfeit the cost but it will simply continue over to the next session.
Each session requires a minimum of 3 or 4 people (depending which group you are in) to attend in order to make it viable, so there may be the odd week that the session doesn’t run (this will not count as one of your paid weeks).
A WhatsApp group will be created for ease of last minute communication.
We will get a head count each week for the next session via a poll on the WhatsApp group which will determine whether we have enough to go ahead.
Please contact me to show your interest.
NOTE: I cannot guarantee that there will be space, however in this case, you will be added to a waiting list.

Building On Blinds
(New dates TBC)
Build your dog’s confidence and understanding of blind retrieves.
We will look at every element of the blind retrieve from before you the line dog up, to the moment the dummy reaches your hand.
Dog’s should have previously been introduced to blinds and have a consistent retrieve.
By the end of the session you will have a solid plan of how to go about achieving a confident and straight run out to blind retrieves.
Imitation shot may be used so dogs should have been introduced to and be accepting of this.
Double Dog
This workshop is aimed at those who own and handle more than one dog at a time.
Exercises will be based on one handler working two dogs at once, focusing upon steadiness, clarity of commands, distractions, and getting your dogs more confident at working around their team mate as well as other dogs.
Exercises can be tailored to the level of those present on the day, however a good level of steadiness is necessary to enrol on this workshop.
Dealing with Ditches
(New Dates TBC)
This workshop will include sending your dog over and beyond large ditches, as well as hunting through them.
Dogs should have an established retrieve and solid recall.
Exercises may include marked, memory and blind retrieves, as well as distractions, hunting up, steadiness, direction, stop whistle, dummy launchers and other imitation shot, simulated drives.
Some banks may be steep and your dog may be required to swim (depending on water levels at the time), therefore should be confident in water. Cover in and around the ditches may be thick.
